SUPKEM Pays Courtesy Call to Cabinet Secretary for Health

On April 30, 2025, the Directorate of Health and Sanitation of the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) visited the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Hon. Aden Duale. The SUPKEM delegation was led by National Chairman Hassan Ole Naado, and included Ag. National Treasurer Abdallah Ali, Ag. Deputy Treasurer Omar Khamis, Director of Health and Sanitation Dr. Hussein Iman Sigat, and Mr. Mohamed Dayow.

Our discussions focused on exploring various opportunities, particularly our proposal for a partnership with the Ministry of Health through the Directorate of Health and Sanitation.

SUPKEM’s Health Secretariat boasts a comprehensive network comprising 20 hospitals, 12 health centers, and 32 dispensaries, which collectively serve over 1.2 million Kenyans annually. This extensive reach uniquely positions us to tackle a variety of health challenges faced by our communities, from preventative care to specialized services.

We highlighted the critical importance of collaboration in enhancing healthcare delivery, improving access to essential services, and promoting health education across diverse populations. The Cabinet Secretary was joined by the Director General of Health, Dr. Patrick Amoth, and other technical staff from the Ministry of Health, who provided valuable insights during our meeting.

The Cabinet Secretary expressed enthusiasm for SUPKEM’s initiatives and committed to supporting our efforts to strengthen the healthcare system in Kenya. This partnership has the potential to significantly improve health outcomes by ensuring that communities receive quality care and resources. We eagerly anticipate working closely with the Ministry to implement initiatives that will foster healthier lives for all Kenyans.

Our Health Programs fous on advancing the health and wellbeing of Muslim communities across Kenya. We aim to strengthen the delivery of culturally sensitive, accessible, and quality healthcare services to beneficiaries.
